SPECIAL PROJECTS

Living Space Constructions has the in-house experience and diverse trade base to be able to carry out unique and specialty projects for our clients.

Please see below a some examples of special projects we have been involved with in the last 12 months

Planetarium Dome - Toongabbie East Public School
Custom Built Project

Living Space Constructions were engaged by the Department of Education (Western Sydney Region) to design and construct a custom built fibreglass Planetarium Dome for Toongabbie East Public School.

Our team took the client through the whole process from their original idea to our initial design concepts, concept approval, construction and then right through to installation and fit off.

The Planetarium Dome is a one-of-a-kind structure that, due to the access issues onsite, had to be built in separate sections in our warehouse and then transported and re-assembled at the school.

The end result is a unique facility for an interactive education experience.

Sustainability Project - Kogarah Council - Community Garden
Strawbale Building

Living Space Constructions were engaed by Kogarah Council to build an Envirotecture designed Straw Bale Shed at Carss Park. The Straw Bale shed was built to be used as a facility for the Carss Park Community Garden.

The site of the building is located on one of the bowling greens of the old Carss Park Bowling Club. Since 2008, Kogarah City Council has been working with a committee of local volunteers to develop and create the Carss Park Community Garden.

The straw bale shed was opened by the Mayor on 27 August 2009. The straw bale shed will be used for community meetings and workshops as well as the storage of tools and other items used by the community gardeners.

In keeping with the sustainability ethos of the gardens, the shed walls were built from straw bales, recycled tyres were used in the foundation, lime render was used in place of cement, timber was plantation-grown Paulownia timber, the shed includes the installation of rainwater tanks and the building has a "truth window" to show visitors the straw bale constuction of the walls.
